To strengthen communication between the school, teachers, and parents, and to ensure children's healthy growth, Zhuhai Yinghua Cambridge International School held a parent meeting on the afternoon of September 18, 2020, for the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year. The meeting provided parents with an understanding of their children's learning and life at Yinghua, aiming for a collaborative home-school partnership in nurturing children and forming an effective "three-in-one" education model.

At the parent meeting, two student representatives, Roy and Jacky, shared their learning experiences at Yinghua.
Roy:
I used to be afraid to talk to foreigners, but with the guidance of our foreign teacher, Charlie, my English speaking has improved significantly. Also, during morning reading, Ms. Yison would have us give full English speeches and patiently provide suggestions for improvement.
I appreciate that my parents sent me to Yinghua Cambridge School. I appreciate that I met a lot of friends and excellent teachers here. So, with so much to be thankful for, I believe that my future will be bright, and I believe that our future will be bright!
Jacky:
Last year, I came to this school with excitement, full of imagination and curiosity. In the blink of an eye, it's been over a year, and I've learned a lot here, making up for my previous shortcomings. I thank my homeroom teacher; under her guidance, we have created a good learning atmosphere. Thanks to my classmates, the mutual care in life and the spirit of unity and mutual assistance in learning have helped me adapt better to school life.

Every parent hopes their child will achieve academic success, but not every child achieves good grades, causing anxiety for some parents.
At the parent meeting, Director Philip from the Academic Affairs Office analyzed the reasons why some children did not achieve good results, mainly due to lack of discipline, unwillingness to follow instructions, and being overly clever. He pointed out that Yinghua will have stricter requirements for students in teaching: improved grades in all subjects, attendance rate of 85% or higher, and strict adherence to all Yinghua regulations. It is hoped that through these changes, children can identify their shortcomings and continue to strive for improvement.

Director Justin from the Examination Office explained the students' academic planning at Yinghua—grades 10 and 11 focus on accumulating knowledge and building a foundation; grade 12 focuses on standardized tests to prepare for overseas applications; and grade 13 is a year for applications and transition to university.
Director Justin cautioned students that the international curriculum is time-consuming and demanding. He also hoped that parents would fully understand the school's academic requirements to better cooperate with teachers in encouraging their children to develop good study habits.

Regarding student management, Director Xie Yang from the Student Affairs Office gave a summary of class assignments, moral education, leave of absence, etc., hoping that parents would better understand Yinghua's management system and actively cooperate with the school to help students become more self-disciplined and proactive in their studies.
Director Xie also conveyed Yinghua's holistic education philosophy by showcasing students' campus activities.

At the parent meeting, Principal Yang Xiaofeng extended a warm welcome and sincere thanks to all attending parents and explained Yinghua's goal: to provide warm and caring international education and lay the foundation for students' happy lives.
Starting this semester, Yinghua will improve students' academic performance, develop more personalized university guidance plans, and provide career planning. In addition, Yinghua will continue to strengthen students' social skills and self-protection abilities, helping them establish the correct values.
Choices change destiny, and hard work achieves dreams. Principal Yang Xiaofeng hopes that parents will actively cooperate with the school, pay attention to their children's development and growth, and address their children's issues with a positive and proactive attitude.

After leaving the lecture hall, parents went to their children's classrooms for class and subject consultations. Homeroom teachers gave detailed introductions to the children's academic performance and behavior at school.
Parents also had face-to-face exchanges with subject teachers to gain a deeper understanding of their children's performance in various subjects.

This parent meeting bridged the gap between home and school, allowing parents to further understand Yinghua's educational philosophy and approach, achieving effective communication. With the joint efforts of home and school, we believe that the new generation of YCS students will grow up healthily and happily! They will surely write a new chapter in their lives at Yinghua.
