This week is the mid-term examination week for the first semester of 2020 at Yinghua. To this end, Vice Principal Philip outlined several points regarding examination procedures for the students. Vice Principal Philip emphasized the seriousness of cheating on exams.
Vice Principal Philip hoped that students would learn self-discipline and take responsibility for their actions. He encouraged students to seek help when facing difficulties or problems.
Following this, Principal Yang Xiaofeng shared a speech about cherishing life. Principal Yang Xiaofeng gave the example that in the United States, someone contracts the novel coronavirus every second; Europe is experiencing a second wave of the pandemic, with many French people celebrating before the lockdown because they believe in the motto, "Give me liberty, or give me death." In contrast, the situation in China is relatively stable, and several cases of asymptomatic infection that broke out some time ago were quickly brought under control.
Principal Yang Xiaofeng believes that after experiencing this difficult period of fighting the epidemic, the children will cherish life even more. In addition, children should learn to respect life and understand its meaning: no one is a failure, everyone has a way out. Student life is beautiful, but amidst the beauty are hardships, setbacks, disappointments, and regrets—this is the flavor of youth. Disagreements with school and classmates, dissatisfaction with teachers, arguments with family, failing exams, etc., these uncomfortable feelings are the necessary path for children as their wings grow and they mature.
After the flag-raising speech, Vice Principal Zhang Huijie presented awards to the civilized dormitories and excellent classes of the previous week. The following are the award-winning dormitories and classes:
Civilized Dormitories: 320 Peng Hao, 603 Chen Yitong, Li Sitong
Excellent Classes: G2, G1-1, G1-3
