STEAM Maker Education
The core of the STEAM education philosophy is interdisciplinary characteristics, namely the organic integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and humanities and arts, aiming to cultivate students' interdisciplinary thinking and the ability to flexibly transfer and solve real-world problems. It comprehensively develops students' thinking and problem-solving abilities, and this education maximally meets the trends and requirements of applications to top universities in the future world.
The basic goals of STEAM courses are divided into the following four stages: Stage 1: The course content focuses on cultivating students' interests and inspiring their passion and spirit for pursuing science. Stage 2: The course content focuses on expanding horizons; only by expanding their horizons can they clarify what aspects of research they can pursue. Stage 3: After students have a full understanding of a certain field, they will receive knowledge and basic skills training, cultivating students' ability to use tools, apply mathematics, etc. Stage 4: Focus on acquiring the STEAM research process, cultivating students' ability to conduct normative explorations, and encouraging them to develop independent thinking habits.
Our School Currently, our school's STEAM courses mainly focus on Arduino self-made instrument teaching. Students learn and use various sensors to create relatively simple internal structures for electronic instruments, and then use laser engraving machines or 3D printers to create the external structures of the instruments. This allows students to learn and understand the most basic artificial intelligence, exercising their logical thinking and hands-on abilities.
