Intense study is not the only aspect of high school life; a balance of work and rest is essential for a well-rounded education. To enrich students' extracurricular lives, encourage broader participation in sports, improve physical fitness, and help students approach their studies with abundant energy, Zhuhai Yinghua Cambridge International School held a fun sports meet on December 4, 2020.
Before the fun sports meet, Principal Yang Xiaofeng delivered the opening remarks. Principal Yang first expressed gratitude to the teachers who organized the event and pointed out in his speech that sports, as an important activity for enhancing physical strength, cultivating willpower, and shaping character, have a significant impact on a person's overall development. Principal Yang hoped that students would exercise more, maintain regular exercise, improve their physical fitness, and thereby enhance their overall abilities.
In addition, Principal Yang Xiaofeng also encouraged students to cultivate more hobbies, emphasizing that interests are the soul of a person. He encouraged everyone to be an interesting and healthy individual. After the speech, Principal Yang Xiaofeng officially declared the fun sports meet open. Below is a review of the exciting events:
In the "Answer Questions and Run Back and Forth" event, five students from each class participated. They ran back and forth within two minutes, with the team answering the most questions winning. Whenever students on the field were answering questions, the audience would cheer them on, offering encouragement and support. Each cheer demonstrated the students' collective spirit of unity and was filled with deep camaraderie.
Due to the game's hidden bonus points, the name tags of participating teachers were worth -10 to 10 points. Ultimately, the students from G1-2 class took first place!
For the students, tug-of-war embodies collective unity, friendship, and a sense of honor. When the referee blew the whistle for the tug-of-war competition, the students on both ends of the rope, full of spirit and energy, exerted all their strength, pulling hard on the rope. The students and teachers watching from the sidelines were also not idle; even if their throats were hoarse from cheering, they would still shout encouragement for their teammates...
The sports meet is a major campus event for Yinghua students. Holding a fun sports meet not only allows students to have fun and relieve academic pressure but also serves as a comprehensive assessment of their regular sports activities and a review of the students' overall quality.
