Distinguished teachers and dear students,

Good morning, everyone!

As the new year begins, everything takes on a fresh look. Tomorrow is the Lantern Festival. Once the Lantern Festival concludes, the traditional Chinese New Year celebrations will come to an end. At this beautiful moment, just before the Lantern Festival begins, we gather here to embark on the new academic year of the Yinghua International Curriculum High School Programme. At the end of last year and the beginning of this year, a television drama titled “The Peaceful Year” gained high ratings. It reminded us that for ordinary people, peace and hope are cherished, and within us lies the firm belief to strive for our dreams. We are not born into a world of peace and prosperity, but we are fortunate to be born in a peaceful and prosperous China.

Dear teachers and students, we live in an era brimming with both opportunities and challenges. The bright, dazzling lanterns of the Lantern Festival symbolize wisdom and hope, illuminating the path ahead. Looking at the world—from the years‑long Russia‑Ukraine war to the U.S. military intervention in Venezuela earlier this year, and to the lingering echoes of the “U.S.–Iran war” and the “Iran–Israel war” just two days ago—these events remind us how truly precious a peaceful and prosperous year is. The accumulation of knowledge and the continuous enhancement of our capabilities serve as the most steadfast shields against future uncertainties. As members of the Yinghua community, we should cherish the stable learning environment before us even more, view the world through an international lens, and contribute to the future with solid, well‑grounded knowledge. For those who are truly strong never make excuses in the face of adversity; instead, they are always exploring new paths and devising innovative solutions to achieve success.

Looking back, especially at the just‑concluded year of 2025, we experienced an extraordinary and challenging year. We won’t dwell on the hardships and difficulties we encountered. Overcoming numerous obstacles to successfully commence the second semester of this academic year is the best illustration of “never making excuses for difficulties, only seeking methods for success.” Perhaps, facing the depth and breadth of the international curriculum, you have felt pressure at times; perhaps, during the sprint for HKDSE and A‑Level exams, you have encountered setbacks. But please remember: difficulties are not obstacles, but stepping stones for growth; challenges are not the end, but the starting point for transformation. True warriors turn pressure into motivation and forge setbacks into armor.

Teachers, you are the navigators guiding students in pursuing their dreams. Please continue to use your professionalism and enthusiasm to build bridges for students leading to the world; ignite each soul's passion for knowledge with your wisdom and inclusiveness. Every effort you make will turn into the wind beneath the wings of students, enabling them to soar high.

Students, at this moment, we stand in the spring breeze of this “peaceful year,” and also at a critical juncture in our lives. Let us take the belief of “never making excuses for difficulties, only seeking methods for success” as our sail, and the Yinghua spirit as our oar, to forge ahead through the ocean of knowledge. I firmly believe that when you fearlessly conquer the peaks of HKDSE and A-Level, the world will witness the brilliance of Yinghua students!

Thank you all!

Dear teachers and beloved students:

Hello everyone!

As the New Year ushers in a fresh start, all things are renewed. Tomorrow is the Lantern Festival: once the Lantern Festival has passed, the traditional Lunar New Year will come to an end. Yet at this beautiful moment, just before the Lantern Festival even begins, we have gathered together to jointly embark on the journey of the new academic year for the Yinghua International Curriculum High School Program. At the end of last year and the beginning of this year, the TV series “Taiping Nian” enjoyed skyrocketing ratings—because it taught us that for ordinary people like us, peace and hope are what truly carry within our hearts the steadfast belief to strive for our dreams. We were not born into a world of perpetual peace; rather, we are fortunate to live in a China blessed with such a prosperous and tranquil era.

Dear teachers and students, we live in an era brimming with both opportunities and challenges. The dazzling lights of the Lantern Festival symbolize the illumination of wisdom and hope that guides us forward; yet as we look out at the world—from the years‑long Russia‑Ukraine war, to the U.S. military operation against Venezuela earlier this year, and to the lingering echoes of the “U.S.–Iran War” and the “Iran–Israel War” that have just faded over the past two days—these events constantly remind us how precious a “peaceful, tranquil age” truly is. The accumulation of knowledge and the enhancement of our capabilities are the most reliable shields we can wield to confront the uncertainties of the future. As members of the Yinghua community, we should cherish the stable learning environment before us, view the world through an international lens, and contribute to the future of our global society with solid academic foundations—because true strength lies not in seeking excuses in times of adversity, but in tirelessly exploring the paths and methods that lead to success.

Looking back at the past, especially the recently concluded year of 2025, we’ve experienced an extraordinary and highly challenging year—though the hardships we faced go without saying. After overcoming countless obstacles, we’ve now successfully kicked off the second semester of the academic year, a perfect embodiment of the spirit: “We don’t make excuses for difficulties; we only seek solutions for success.” Perhaps you’ve felt pressured by the depth and breadth of international curricula; perhaps you’ve encountered setbacks while sprinting toward the HKDSE and A-Level exams. But remember: difficulties are not roadblocks—they are stepping stones to growth; challenges are not endpoints—they are the starting point for transformation. True warriors turn pressure into motivation and forge resilience from adversity, transforming setbacks into armor.

Teachers, you are the guiding stars for students as they pursue their dreams. Please continue to build bridges to the world for your students with professionalism and passion; and ignite each soul’s burning desire for knowledge through wisdom and inclusiveness. Every bit of your dedication will become the wind that lifts your students high into the sky.

Classmates, at this very moment, we stand in the gentle spring breeze of “peaceful times,” but more importantly, we stand at a pivotal juncture in our lives. Let us hoist our sails with the conviction that “we never make excuses for difficulties—only seek solutions for success,” and let us row forward through the vast ocean of knowledge, guided by the spirit of Yinghua. I firmly believe that when you bravely stride across the peaks of the HKDSE and A-Level exams, the world will witness the glorious achievements of Yinghua students!

Thank you, everyone!
