Activity Process
This activity, based on the classification of Holland's occupational codes, uses classrooms to set up four different career categories: doctor, engineer, financial manager, and designer. The entire activity uses games and other forms to show students the occupational or workplace environment/work content/relevant facilities and equipment, allowing students to have a preliminary understanding of the job requirements in different professional fields. Four outstanding professionals from different fields were invited to share their work experience and interesting stories about their careers.
Financial Manager Group: Students learned about the daily work of the financial industry and, through games, gained a clearer understanding of the concepts of financial work and financial management.
Software Engineer Group: Students learned in detail about the composition of the work content in the software industry, and what types of knowledge are needed to become an excellent IT engineer. Everyone gained a lot.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Group: Through close communication with modern traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, students came into contact with real herbs and learned about herbal principles, broadening their knowledge; they also gained a multi-faceted understanding of the daily work of modern traditional Chinese medicine practitioners.
Interior Design Group: Students, in addition to learning about design work, also learned in detail about the knowledge of design materials and how to become an excellent interior design professional.
After the activity, William from the AS class said, "I understand the importance of investment and financial management, and I need to make important choices." Zoey, also from the AS class, said, "Through this activity, I learned a lot about herbs and their uses, as well as many small stories related to treatment. It was a very profound experience. I also learned about the asset requirements for studying abroad and some knowledge about credit reports. Next time, I want to try the interior designer profession."
During this half-day activity, Yinghua students and mentors communicated face-to-face, learning about their work content, career experiences, and future plans. The mentors' life experiences and unique insights on career development will help each student understand the real workplace and the development of future careers. This activity will open up new horizons for Yinghua students and help them find a better version of themselves!
